We have four North Carolina licensed optometrists, board certified opticians, highly trained technicians, and support staff all dedicated to providing families with the care they need. We are committed to providing contact lenses to patients who feel contact lenses are a match for their lifestyle. Whether you are a simple or complicated fit, we want your contact lenses to be comfortable, safe, and convenient. We welcome those interested in monovision, bifocal contacts, colors, or patients with astigmatism.

We provide comprehensive routine eye exams and thorough follow-up care for all ages. We use the latest technology to diagnose eye diseases like glaucoma, diabetic and hypertensive retinopathy, and cataracts. We also proactively manage complications due to injury, dry eye, infection, or even foreign body removal.

In High Point, we’re located on Eastchester Drive close to Oak Hollow Mall, in the heart of Lexington, we’re on East Center Street, and in Wallburg we are in the Wallburg Town Center Shopping Mall. Dr. David Kowal

Dr. David Kowal

Dr. David Kowal of The Eye Care Group is originally from Binghamton, New York. He did his undergraduate work at Wake Forest University and received his Optometry degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry. Following graduation, Dr. Kowal completed a hospital-based residency at the Brooklyn Veteran’s Administration Medical Center in New York City then joined the optometric staff at the renowned Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida. He practiced in Florida from 1987-2000 and has been practicing in Lexington and in High Point since 2000. He is a member of the America Optometric Association, the North Carolina State Optometric Society and a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry.

Dr. Becky Call York
Dr. Becky Call York of The Eye Care Group is originally from Mocksville, NC.
She did her undergraduate work at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and received her optometry degree from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN.
 
She has been practicing in Lexington and in High Point since 2010. She is a member of the American Optometric Association and the North Carolina State Optometric Society.

Dr. David Daughtry, Jr.

Dr. David Daughtry, Jr.

Dr. David Daughtry, Jr. of The Eye Care Group is a native of North Carolina and was raised in Garner. While stationed with the U.S. Navy on the west coast, he finished his undergraduate work at San Diego State University. He received his doctorate from Southern College of Optometry and interned with the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Memphis, TN.

After returning to North Carolina in 2010, Dr. Daughtry practiced in Thomasville and Randleman before joining The Eye Care Group. His focus is in primary health care of the eyes, contact lens fittings, management of ocular disease and treatment of injuries. Dr. Daughtry is a member of the American Optometric Association, North Carolina State Optometric Society and Winston Salem Optometric Society.

Dr. Andrew Simpson

Dr. Andrew Simpson

Dr. Andrew Simpson of The EyeCare Group is a native of Wallburg, NC. He earned his BA in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and received his Doctor of Optometry from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry in 2013.

He is a member of the American Optometric Association, the North Carolina State Optometric Society and the Triad Optometric Society. Dr. Simpson’s clinical interests include primary eye care and contact lenses, glaucoma, and management of ocular disease and injury. Dr. Simpson is also trained in the fitting of specialty contact lenses for post-surgical and irregular corneas.

Dr. Erin Fontaine

Dr. Erin Fontaine is a native of Raleigh, NC, and a graduate of North Carolina State University where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Biochemistry, Biological Sciences, and Chemistry with a minor in Genetics. She then earned her Doctor of Optometry Degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She completed a residency at Wm. Jennings Bryan Dorn VA Medical Center in Columbia, SC, where the primary focus was triaging ocular urgencies/emergencies and managing ocular diseases like glaucoma, macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. The following year, she became a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry (FAAO). Since entering private practice in 2012, she has spent her clinic time completing post-operative cataract care, contact lens fittings and routine eye care, in addition to continuing ocular disease management. Recently, she has been taking an interest in myopia management. She is a member of the American Optometric Association, the North Carolina State Optometric Society and a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, exercising and outdoor activities with her husband and two children.
